One Heartbeat
ONE HEARTBEAT WITH THE ELEMENTS
In our desire to be a healing force on an ailing planet, The Elements have turned once again to the power of music, dance and theater to foster joy through human interaction.
With support from Culture Works of Dayton and the NEA, we developed a new work called One Heartbeat. Through original music and songs, percussive dance, and audience interaction we aim to synchronize the rhythm of our heartbeats and forge a bond of shared compassion.
Three workshop performances for invited guests have already taken place in Michael’s studio loft, home to the magnificent Sound Sculptures that feature prominently in the program. YOU can facilitate the One Heartbeat immersive experience for your group, whether it's work colleagues or other working teams, friends or family. All together we dance, play instruments and sing, It's an intimate and empowering experience in a unique arts setting. The ideal number of participants is 15-20. The creation of One Heartbeat was assisted by funds from a National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) American Rescue Plan (ARP) subgranting program. These funds distributed by Cultureworks, under the banner of the Dayton Region Arts Renewal Grant, were intended to support artists in their response to and recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic.
