When I began learning and playing music I was heavily influenced by English/Scottish/Irish ballads, and I performed mostly in coffeehouses. In the early 1970s I moved to Texas and began playing more of my own songs in venues such as Anderson Fair Restaurant and the Sweetheart of Texas Concert Hall and Saloon. In the late 1970s I moved to New Mexico and played piano and sang with The Last Mile Ramblers, a country western/western swing band. Returning to Ohio in 1980, I once again performed solo - opening many many concerts at the internationally known Canal Street Tavern. In the 1990s Michael Bashaw and I formed the ensemble, Puzzle of Light.
